Our Vision for Privacy at MyMech

At MyMech, we believe privacy is not just a compliance requirement — it's a core feature of how we earn and keep your trust.

As we prepare to launch, our team is committed to building a privacy-first automotive assistant platform that puts users in full control of their personal and diagnostic data. Our privacy practices are guided by the principles of data minimization, transparency, and user empowerment.

Here's What We're Building Toward

Only What's Needed

We aim to collect the absolute minimum information necessary to deliver vehicle diagnostics and AI-driven support. Wherever possible, we design features to work without needing to know who you are.

Separation of Identity and Diagnostic Data

Your vehicle's health data belongs to you — not us. Our backend architecture is being built to separate personally identifiable information (PII) from behavioral or diagnostic telemetry. When we use vehicle data to improve the product or AI suggestions, it will be anonymized and detached from your profile.

Consent-Driven Features

From Bluetooth pairing to AI support, every feature that accesses sensitive data will be opt-in by design, not automatic. You choose what to share and when — and you can withdraw that access at any time.

Built for Compliance

We're aligning our systems and policies with international privacy standards including GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, and California's Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We're leveraging secure platforms like Google Cloud and Firebase, which offer encryption at rest and in transit by default.

User-Controlled Data Management

Our roadmap includes a Privacy Dashboard, where you'll be able to view, download, or request deletion of your data — with no red tape.

No Selling of Your Data

MyMech will never sell your personal information. Period. Any data sharing (for example, to recommend parts or locate mechanics) is done strictly to fulfill features you initiate — and only with vetted third-party services that meet our privacy and security standards.

Transparent Communication

We promise to write policies and notices in plain language, not legal jargon. You deserve to know what's happening behind the scenes.
