Two Founders, One Mission
How Gwen and Jonathan Built MyMech's Vision Together
Every startup begins with a spark — but it takes the right team to turn that spark into fire. For MyMech, the partnership between Gwen King and Jonathan Wies created that balance.
Gwen is an engineer and lifelong tinkerer. Growing up in California, she learned on a stick-shift Volkswagen and never lost her curiosity for how machines work. From environmental engineering to construction equipment, her career showed her that many mechanical problems are solvable with the right knowledge. She also noticed how few women were represented in the repair space. With MyMech, Gwen is determined to empower everyone — especially women — to feel confident opening the toolbox.
Jonathan brings business acumen and global experience to the table. After working in renewable products in Switzerland and consulting in South Africa, he built expertise in operations, fundraising, and scaling ideas into reality. He also shares a passion for cars, and envisions a future where car ownership comes with confidence instead of confusion.
Together, Gwen and Jonathan represent both sides of MyMech: engineering insight and business execution. Their shared mission is to make car care transparent, reliable, and empowering for all.
